Wat Pho, Wat Arun and the Chao Phraya

The three that matter sit within a mile of each other on the river: the Grand Palace, Wat Pho with its reclining Buddha, and Wat Arun across the water, whose porcelain-studded prang is best seen from the far bank at dusk. Doing them by boat rather than by road is both faster and the point. Dress is enforced at all three — knees and shoulders covered. Start at eight if you want any of it to yourself, and take the cross-river ferry to Arun for a few baht.
